The Garrison Creek still flows beneath our city. As it rushes under homes, cafes, roads and parks, we find signs of this lost river in tilting houses, dips in streets, buried bridges and a string of green valleys.

Human River celebrates the creek’s path with eclectic events that incorporate: education, art and exploration. Join us as we remember the water’s past as a creek that carved our city, learn about its present in Toronto’s storm sewers, and imagine its potential future.

THE 5th ANNUAL HUMAN RIVER

on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25th, 2009

The walk began at 1:00 pm, leaving from the Pavilion @ Christie Pits Park and finished at Historic Fort York, Blue Barracks with a closing reception until 5:30 pm.

WHEN: Sunday, October 25, 2009 @ 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm

START: 12:30 pm near the Pavilion @ Christie Pits Park

WHO: Anyone who would like to join the flow! The walking route is mostly flat or slightly downhill, with some steep inclines.

ACCESSIBILITY: Those who want to walk or roll the last 1.5 km or 800 m at a slower pace, can contact us for alternate meet-up locations and times: contact@humanriver.ca

Alternatively, all are welcome to join us at the closing reception at Fort York ‘s Blue Barracks. Doors will open at 4:00 pm.

COST: FREE (Donations welcome)
