<p style="text-align: left;">&#8220;When you think of historical sites in and around Toronto you</p>
<p>most likely conjure up thoughts of old buildings and</p>
<p>monuments or a site where something was signed or opened</p>
<p>or torn down. Few of us think of our natural heritage. The</p>
<p>Human River campaign &#8211; coordinated by Georgia Ydreos as an</p>
<p>offshoot of the Toronto Public Space Committee &#8211; is trying to</p>
<p>preserve the memory of one such natural site, the Garrison</p>
<p>Creek. Completely buried by the mid 1920’s, Human River</p>
<p>holds an annual storytelling parade &#8211; coming up October 25th</p>
<p>- to explore its past, re-envision its future, and discuss its</p>
<p>current stormwater issues. Reporter Mieke Anderson met</p>
<p>Georgia in Trinity-Bellwoods Park to talk more about the lost</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">These workshops are a fun opportunity to break out the glue and get to know one another. <span> </span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Using pop bottles, card board boxes and a variety of other reclaimed materials we&#8217;ll work together to create bike floats and parade props for this year&#8217;s <a href="../?p=32">Urban Water Cycle</a> on Sunday, October 19. Outside of adding fish tails to bike baskets, crafts will include, hand held birds and noise makers.<br />
